Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons Crickshank — Town with a Secret
The named settlement in the Gamescom film, not a confirmed safe hub
Crickshank is the town noun in the Gamescom reveal. Captions and Skev imply it harbors a secret. MMORPG’s preview walked Kaatri toward its gates and down toward a crypt. That is the public gazetteer. There is no map download, no vendor list, no “fast travel unlocked.” Darkon is the domain; Crickshank is one named stone pile inside it.
Why a town page exists before launch
Because players search the caption. Because Xbox Wire’s Mystery example — bloody drag marks, an open door, talk to villagers — is exactly the kind of beat a gothic town is for. Because official copy already says towns dislike a warlock’s mark and still serve as places you find upgrades, NPCs, and quests. Weapons are found and improved; Guay talked about two equipped weapons and more in the world. A settlement is the desk where that fantasy sits. Do not turn Crickshank into a Baldur’s Gate-style camp with a chest of everyone you like. You play Kaatri only.
Secret, not a spoiler dump
Skev teases. Invoke has not published the secret. This page will not guess a cult, a Dark Lord basement, or Azalin Rex in the well. Azalin is gone in preview lore; the domain is leaderless and failing. If Crickshank’s secret is that absence, wait for them to say so. If it is a Mystery, it will be missable on purpose.
The catacombs under or near the town held a Death’s Kiss in the shown path. Hattem said you could stay and fight. Combat owns that choice. Crickshank owns the street that led you there.
How to walk it on paper
Enter. Look. Talk. Do not wait for a diamond. Xbox Wire: unusual activity, not a compass. Exploration verbs still work in town — Misty Step a grate, Leash a cart, Levitate a stall. How to explore Darkon is the field manual. How to play is the film homework. If a later trailer names a second town, it gets its own page. Until then, Crickshank is the only settlement with a public name.
What a warlock mark does in a street
Official copy says anyone can become a monster and that a warlock’s mark is a social problem. Crickshank is the first named place that sentence can happen. Do not invent a reputation meter. Do invent a habit: walk in like you are being watched, because you are. Talk anyway. Tasha will push you toward power in the dirt, not toward making friends. If a later scene shows a closed gate because of the mark, that is a Mystery door, not a fail state. Cosplay tour wants Kaatri recognizable in a real crowd; the fiction wants her unwelcome in a fake one. Hold both facts. Domains of Dread explain why the mists care. This page only explains why this street has a name. If a later map pins a second street — a market, a chapel, a wall against the mists — those pins get sentences, not a fake district guide. For now: gates, secret, crypt, villagers, and a door you can walk past. That is enough to search, and not enough to spoil. Read how to play again after any new town shot, and keep release date for when a day exists.
