Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons Domains of Dread Setting
Ravenloft's darker shelf — Darkon as the playable domain
Invoke and Wizards told preview outlets they were expanding D&D’s darkest corner rather than reprinting Baldur’s Gate geography. Domains of Dread are pocket hells in the Ravenloft mythos: each has a Darklord, a sin, and mists that keep people in. Darkon is the domain Warlock actually names. Azalin Rex is the traditional Darklord, described in coverage as vanished. That vacuum is the political weather Kaatri walks into, not a promised raid boss.
Why this frame fits a warlock game
A Domain of Dread wants pacts, marks, and bills. Tasha is already a dangerous patron; putting her student in a mist-locked gothic state raises the cost of every Raw Magic pickup. Darkon is the local map. This page is the cosmological parent. Tasha is the off-domain power leaking in.
What footage actually shows
Castles, rain, dungeons, a Watcher, an ogre, a marked outsider in a town. That is enough to know the tone is horror-adjacent action, not a bright Sword Coast romp. It is not enough to list twenty domain names. Do not add Barovia as a promised DLC. Preview talks about tone. How to explore talks about verbs.
Tabletop readers
If you know Ravenloft, you already understand mists as prison. If you do not, you only need: beautiful, unsafe, hard to leave, full of hidden power. World hub stays small on purpose.

What we still refuse to invent on this page
Pre-release wikis fail when they fill silence with numbers. Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons has not published damage, cooldowns, campaign hours, or a skill tree. This article therefore repeats only public nouns: Kaatri, Tasha, Darkon, Raw Magic, cantrips, advanced spells, rituals, two weapons, 2027, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. If a later trailer names a new tool, it belongs here as a named tool, not as a guessed rank. Wishlist links belong on the platforms article. Button maps belong on the controls article. Boss names belong nowhere until Invoke says them on camera.
Readers arriving from Baldur’s Gate 3 should treat this page as a different job: no camp, no dice, no origin picker. Readers arriving from Dark Alliance should treat it as a different session: no four-player drop-in. Readers arriving from tabletop warlock threads should treat Eldritch Blast as a pad verb, not a slot you ration after a short rest. Witch Bolt wants water and metal. Black Tentacles hold bodies and masonry. Fey Switch is a survival swap. Downpour is a ritual with bowls. Tasha’s Leash is original to this video game.
The official site, the Gamescom eight-minute film, Maggie Robertson’s stage intro, and Dominic Guay’s IGN interview remain the primary sources. Tricia Helfer is Kaatri. The lost person has no public name. Azalin Rex is vanished in previews, not a confirmed health bar. Crickshank harbors a secret in captions. Steam lists twelve languages; this wiki ships English, French, German, and Spanish. The launch window is still a year, not a day. Notes on world/domains-of-dread-en-0 stay unique to this article.
