Gust of Wind in Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons

The official Warlock site describes Gust of Wind in one sentence: produce a sudden burst or continuous current of wind to push back enemies, push objects away, disperse gas or fan flames. That is the entire tooltip. It sits in the at-will layer alongside Eldritch Blast, Witch Bolt and Levitate. Invoke has has said the grimoire is partial, so this entry treats Gust as a published verb and refuses to inflate it into an air school.

Cantrip job, not an air wizard

Press coverage groups Gust of Wind with always-available tools. No spell slot, no mana bar, no ritual table. The point is the cheap shove: a body out of a doorway, a brazier flame that you want to spread, a gas cloud you want gone. When a video clip later shows wind blowing arrows back, fog dissolving, or a sail catching, that beat gets a sentence here. Until then, “push back, push away, disperse, fan” is the legal text. Where it sits next to other tools

Gust of Wind is the cheapest answer when a body is too close. Levitate does the same job in the air but spends more of your attention because objects held by Levitate are described as having gravity nullified until slammed. Tasha’s Leash pulls a thing into your hands; Gust pushes a thing away. Black Tentacles hold a body in place so wind can do something funny to it.
